(Sem 4)BIA - IDP 3 - Project 3

FINAL PROJECT: EXCAPADE
In this project we are required to design an alternative theatre at a given space. By using the inspiration from the movie and with the help of totem from Project 1, I came up with an idea that the theatre experience will be like " A Journey to the Pandora". When customers walked into the waiting area, they will experience that they seem to being in a futuristic space station which advance machineries could be seen. Customers play a role as travellers to Pandora. After purchasing tickets, they will be invited to enter the "Gallery Area", which is designed as in a spaceship. When customers entered the space, there will have a large sculpture featuring flora and fauna from the World of Pandora. There is also interactive device which customers could interact with. Then, customers will enter the performance space 1, which its design is inspired by the "Tree House", the living space for Na'vi. The space is nature like and featured trunks and vines-like structure to shows the "connection". A short performance will start after everyone is seated. Then, customers will be guided to the "Gallery Area" which featured flora and fauna- inspired sculpture that extend from the floor to the ceiling. The space will be pitch black when customers experience the space, but with the fluorescent light painted on the sculpture and the floor, for direction, they will be lead to the "Performance space 2". At here, its design is inspired from the "Tree of Soul" that appeared is the Movie, which is like the heart of the planet, the core. For that reason, on the ceiling area, there is a heart-like structure with "vessels" connected to it. The theatre seating arrangement is similar to the "Performance Space 1" which both are semi-circular.

As the space comprised of many organic form, under the advise from the lecturers, manual drawing are preferred.
